Snorkelling
The Beach Crab Resort is located directly on the Indian Ocean.
For experienced snorkelers and good swimmers, our house reef, which is located about 150 meters from the beach, depending on the weather conditions very good opportunities. You can see various types of corals and a large number of reef fish such as banner fish, parrotfish, lionfish, crocodile fish, blue spotted rays and much more. Unfortunately sometimes visibility is not so good due to the tides.

An ideal snorkeling area, also for beginners, can be found around the offshore sand islands. Not only the Marine Reserve Maziwe Island (entry 12 US $) stands out, but also the other sand island Mzinga (no entrance) is ideal for snorkeling or diving. A highlight here are the sea turtles, which we often observe in a bit deeper water.

To reach the islands we rent a boat. The drive to the nearest island Funguni Mzinga is just over 30 minutes. To Maziwe depending on the weather 50 to 60 min.

$The prices are based on the number of participants and are between US $ 105 for one person and US $ 25 for eight people and more. The snorkeling price includes the complete well-maintained ABC equipment including swimming shirt or wetsuit, picnic with fruits, cakes, sandwiches and including water bottle and the contribution to the organization for the protection of the reefs "Friends of Maziwe".


Kayak
Out on the water, to be one with the sea, this is best done with one of our sit-on-top kayaks. Whether it's a long trip to the nearby estuaries or the rippling of the waves on the reef, the sit-on-top kayaks have all the options. It takes no previous experience to do the first exercises in deep water. you can go very fast too. Tipping is not so bad, because the water is rarely under 28 degrees warm. We offer two single kayaks and a double kayak with additional space for a child. The kayaks can be ordered anytime at the reception. Life jackets always belong to the basic equipment.

SUP
Stand Up Paddling is in vogue and we like to go along with it. With us you can try the SUP. You basically do not need previous experience, but a good sense of balance. The conditions are perfect, especially at low tide. Warm clear shallow water without wave invites to glide. It's a great feeling to stand on the board and glide over the coral and seagrass fields. We use large windsurfing boards and professional adjustable SUP paddles. There are two sets available, which can be booked at any time at the reception.

beach volleyball
Our guests have access to a beach volleyball court right next to the beach bar in the soft white sand.
The playing field has original dimensions and is limited by markings. The net is completely tense and depends on tournament height. The ball is always behind the counter, just ask the waiter.



Hiking tours & walks & excursions

The area around the BeachCrab Resort offers some variety for walk-friends. The pristine coves stretch many miles along the coast, offering secluded spots and plenty of contact with flora and fauna. Some creeks drain on the beach and many of the native birds such as the osprey nest there. Beach walks can be done on your own, just a hat and water should be there. The trails in the hinterland are often only accessible on foot. Dry steppe, mangroves, forests, palm groves, rivers, sisal, etc. promise varied hikes with varying duration.

Massai Walk
At around 3:30 pm, when the heat of the day slows down, we head into the hinterland. On an exciting tour through the coastal savannah and mangrove forests we go to a small village of the Maasai. Here we have the opportunity to get in touch with the people who live here very much apart from everything. Especially the Masssai children are very open and are happy about every change. After the visit of the Massai we continue to a local salt farmer. Here you can watch how salt is won in the simplest way. Afterwards you will drive through mangrove swamps and the fishing village Ushongo Mabaoni on the beach back to the Beach Crab Resort, where you will be back between 18 and 18:30. The tours are accompanied by local, English-speaking guides.

Pangani City Tour
is a guided hike through historic Pangani. Local tourist guides give interesting information and anecdotes about the history of the once so important port city. On a 1.5-hour tour you enter various old buildings from Indian, Arab and German colonial history.
$Price per person 8 to 15US $ depending on number of guests transfer. Payable to the guide directly.

Pangani River Boat Cruise
3-4 hour drive on the Pangani River. In the side arms you can sometimes see crocodiles and big Varane. On request, we stop in a crab catcher village or at a coconut plantation to look over the locals' shoulders.

Safari in Saadani National Park :

2-day / 1-night safari to the nearby Saadani National Park, the only national park in East Africa located by the sea. Unfortunately we can only offer these tours on request.
The price is approx. For a 1-day tour 2 persons 200US $ pp // 3 persons 145US $ pp // 4 persons 120US $ pp, where guide, safari car with a window seat for each, gasoline, picnic drinks are included in the price. An additional $ 35 per person and optional river safari on the Saadani River.
