Kilimanjaro is the central airport in Tanzania for those who want to do safaris or mountain climbing. Depending on the travel time, flights are available from 698.00 € ( tax) return eg from Condor / Thomas Cook from many cities in Germany nonstop. The visa for Tanzania you can buy for $ 50 without problems in the airport at the Immigration Office.
JRO Airport is 50km from Arusha and 30km from Moshi. A taxi to Moshi costs about 50US $ and to Arusha 70US $. You can also take a taxi to the big intersection on the main road (about 10US $) and then continue on the Dalla Dalla for a reasonable price.

b) via Tanga: 434km / 364km tarmac to Tanga, then 61km track to Ushongo - travel time approx. 7 / 6h

Public transportation
a) In Arusha and in Moshi buses like Ratco run several times a day (does not hold for every goat on the roadside), which go to Tanga (20.000TZS).
These need for the 450km / 400km long route about 9h / 7h. The big busses are not allowed to enter the city of Tanga any more, but stop at the new bus terminal in Kange (10km from Tanga). From here, several bus companies offer shuttle buses or take a Dalla Dalla to the local bus terminal on 11th Street between 08:00 and 17:00 drive here every hour and daily buses and Dallas Dallas to Pangani (2h) and two buses weekdays even across the river to Mwera (about 3.000TZS). But we also offer a taxi that picks you up from the large bus terminal in Kange and brings you directly to Beach Crab Resort. The taxi costs 120,000 TZS for the car and it can fit up to 5 people with luggage in this Toyota Noah. Please tell me in advance if you want to have this taxi.
From Pangani:
You must definitely cross the river. It drives a 'big' car ferry (200 shillings) from 6 to 21 clock (usually). Sometimes you have to wait a while to get started. (If the ferry should stop driving you can always cross the river as a pedestrian with wooden boats)

On the other side you are in the district Bweni. Unfortunately, there are no Dallas Dallas on this side of the river that drive to us on the beach. So you have to either look for a nice ride on the ferry, call yourself a Boda Boda (Piki Piki - motorcycle taxis, about 10,000TZS per bike) or our front desk to order a (car) taxi. The drivers (unfortunately there are only 2 on our side of the river) take $ 30 for the 16km up to us. Just call in advance at: 0784 543700 or 0767 543700.
